This book truly could have been called The Chase or The Pursuit as we have so often sought certain things in life: athleticism, wealth, and a list of other identifiers to define self-worth. One evening as I read Hebrews 1:3 a certain phrase commanded all my attention, as if the Lord Himself was inviting me to reconsider all that I thought I knew about image. The verse read, “who being the brightness of His glory and the expressed image of His person.”

I was captured by those words— “the expressed image” — and from that moment, those words have stayed with me.

This book is a meditation, a reflective and forward-looking readjustment of our self-perceptions. So often our esteem and opinion of ourselves is malformed according to fleeting things such as: cars, status, career, relationships, you name it.

But I have good news for you. God has handcrafted us according to His image! The journey of this life is discovering this mighty revelation and allowing it to regenerate every facet of our life.

I pray as you read “The Expressed Image” the Lord will lead you on the same radical journey of God-discovery that He has taken me.
